This is an original USMC utility shirt made from classic frogskin camouflage HBT fabric, most likely dating to the late WWII or early Korean War period. Unlike the reversible P44 combat uniforms, this version is a non-reversible field shirt, constructed from a single layer of herringbone twill using surplus frogskin camo fabric. It features the iconic Marine Corps Eagle, Globe, and Anchor stencil above the left chest pocket—still clearly visible.
These non-reversible frogskin utility tops were often produced toward the end of WWII or in the immediate postwar years for stateside or rear-echelon use, and they reflect the transition in USMC uniform design during that period. Less common than later ERDL or Mitchell pattern garments, these early camouflage shirts remain sought after for their historical significance and distinctive pattern.
