This is an Original 1981 USGI ERDL BDU jacket, produced under DLA contract DLA100-81-C-3101 and manufactured by Vanderbilt Shirt Co., Inc. It represents one of the last official ERDL camouflage BDUs produced before the U.S. Army fully transitioned to M81 Woodland.

Unlike later BDUs, this jacket retains the ERDL camouflage pattern, specifically the Lowland variant, which features a greener color balance designed for jungle and dense foliage environments. By 1981, the U.S. military was shifting to the M81 Woodland pattern, making late-issue ERDL pieces like this exceptionally rare.

This specific jacket is a hot weather ripstop variant, designed for breathability in warm climates. It is in near-mint condition, with all buttons intact, no major fading, and minimal signs of wear. Pieces like this are difficult to find in such well-preserved condition, making it highly desirable for collectors, reenactors, and military history enthusiasts.
