This Level 6 jacket is part of the U.S. Army's Extended Cold Weather Clothing System (ECWCS). Designed as a water- and windproof outer layer, it protects the wearer from the elements. Typically, one or two thermal layers are worn underneath for added warmth. The jacket features a stowable, adjustable hood and adjustable cuffs and waist to keep the cold out. It also includes pass-through pockets for easy access to underlayers and a space for rank sleeves on the chest. This jacket is an excellent choice for cold days outdoors and, when paired with thermal layers, provides all-day warmth.
